🔥 Enshrouded 1.0: What arrives on 15 October – mages, Sparkworks and a new level cap

Enshrouded is leaving Early Access. Here is what Keen Games has announced for 1.0 so far and what it means for you and your server.

On 15 October 2026, Enshrouded leaves Steam Early Access. Developer Keen Games has been showing what comes with 1.0 step by step over the past weeks. Here is a summary of what is confirmed. According to Keen Games, the full list follows in the highlights video and in the release changelog.

🧙 Reworked mages and new spells

With 1.0, Keen Games is taking on the mage classes: more variety, more usable level ranges and reworked enemy weaknesses.

  • Nine new spells: Mana Drain, Entangle, Pillar of Flames, Blizzard, Ball Lightning, Summon Fire Totem, Summon Ice Totem, Summon Shock Totem and Summon Hollow Skeleton. This also adds a new spell category: summons.
  • 22 tier 7 Eternal spells: Eternal spells do not consume spell ammo. They can now be upgraded like weapons and armor, with their own perks such as reduced mana cost.
  • Rebalanced: Mana costs and cast times were tuned to match damage output and usability. Powerful spells take longer, quick spells are there for everyday use.
  • Wands: Heavy attacks now pierce enemies and interrupt weaker ones. New are the aerial attack with area damage and the evasion attack. Targeting was improved, and you can now hit explosive barrels with a wand.
  • New skills: For mages, among others, Advanced Necromancy (more skeletons), Totem Mastery (more totems) and Blast and Cast. Archers get Puncture, Barrage and Survival Instinct.

⚔️ More combat changes

  • Three new Eternal arrows: Fire, Shock and Bone. Eternal arrows can now be upgraded too.
  • More enemy variety: All enemy factions get new variants, including heavy and elite enemies.
  • Better movement: Reworked animations should make characters move more realistically without losing responsiveness.
  • Aim assist: New options for ranged combat in the settings. It is on by default for controllers and off for mouse and keyboard.
  • New level cap: With a new biome, player level rises to a maximum of 50 and gear to level 55.
Important: Because of the new skills, your skill tree is reset. Re-spend your points before you leave your base.

⚡ Sparkworks: turn your build into an adventure

With 1.0, Keen Games adds a new logic system called Sparkworks. You connect triggers such as a lever or a pressure plate to actions such as a door opening or a trapdoor dropping. That lets you build traps, puzzles and adventures of your own. Keen Games shows Sparkworks in a video on Steam. A highlights video for the release has been announced for 15 October.

🚀 Better performance

For 1.0, Keen Games is also working on performance, including on low and mid-range systems, and has published a behind-the-scenes look. They do not give concrete numbers there.

🧭 What does it mean for your Enshrouded server?

Keen Games has not yet said whether existing worlds and savegames will keep working unchanged with 1.0, or which changes come to the server software. There is also no statement yet on Sparkworks on multiplayer servers. Until the patch notes are out:

  1. Create a backup, ideally right before the update. In the web interface you find it under “Tools → Backups”.
  2. Read the patch notes as soon as Keen Games publishes them.
  3. Tell your players that everyone has to update to the same version.

How to set up a server is covered in the dashboard guide, and backing up savegames in the guide “Enshrouded: Manage savegames”.
