On 19/11/2024 a fire in a power substation caused a regional power outage which affected our Frankfurt / Eygelshoven datacenter. This resulted in a high volume of servers and our website becoming unavailable for a period of time. Both the fire and power in the region were restored within the span of a few hours. Unfortunately, we remotely identified various problems caused by the sudden power outage, leading to a team being dispatched to the server location. Our on-site team was able to progress and resolve the outstanding problems in due time, restoring remaining server functionality. We are still investigating this incident and have already started to perform necessary changes to avoid similar incidents like this in the future.
