So, let’s not waste any more seconds here and jump right into the tips and tricks you can follow in the game Palworld.

1. Base Building Strategy

This is one of the most crucial parts of the game and where you will likely spend the most time building and maintaining it. Well, as a beginner, it's recommended not to go for perfection because there is nothing like “perfect” here.

Rather, start simple and then add or remove different components based on what works best for you and your pals in the base. Here are some of the base-building tips you can follow.

  1. Location: Make sure you choose a flat and open space, avoiding areas near large or dangerous Pals like Mammorest .

Look for some resources like coal or oil nodes for better access. For basic resources like stone and wood, craft harvest plots instead. Having multiple bases, like one near the Chillax boss for ore harvesting, can make it a lot easier to craft ingots since you will need a lot of them in the game.

  2. Build with Stone Early: Try building your base with stone early since wooden structures are vulnerable to raids later in the game. Also, avoid building near cliffs, as Pals can get stuck in uneven terrain.
  3. Feed Boxes and Storage: Place feed boxes in the center of your base or near critical functions. Similarly, place the storage boxes near the crafting stations to minimize the pals waiting time. This will eventually increase productivity.
  4. Second Base: You will need a second base dedicated to breeding pals or near a large number of ore nodes since you will need them a lot throughout the game, as mentioned above.
  5. Palpagos Island: You can place different custom markers on the map to mark different parts of the game, such as Dungeons, your base location, bosses, eggs location, etc., to access them easier when you want to visit it next and identify it quicker.

2. Pal Management

Next, you have pals. They are the heart of the game, and you will be looking out to catch them all for combat, farming, building, and everything else.

Here are a few tips you can keep in mind while catching them or assigning them to certain tasks.

  1. Paldeck: Use the Paldeck to explore all the pals you will encounter and can catch in the Palpagos Island. It can be used to check the specific location where these pals appear during the day and night.
  2. Catch Galeclaw: Try getting Galeclaw early, as it significantly reduces walking time by allowing you to glide.
  3. Vixy for Pal Spheres: Vixy is a highly valuable early-game Pal for ranching, as she can dig up useful items such as Pal Spheres. However, the basic spheres may not be enough as you progress.

So, you can put these Vixy in a condenser and once they reach at least a Level 5, they start to drop better spheres powerful enough to catch other end-game pals

  4. Base Pals: You need good handiwork pals early on in the game. Try getting Anubis, as they are the best for multiple purposes and boost crafting speed, reducing time spent on building and production

Try getting other pals as well, such as Mozzarina, Chikipi, Beegrade, etc. for farming, you can add Lyleen and Jormuntide for watering.

  5. Keep Your Pals Happy: Just like you need food to survive, your pals need it too. It's important to keep your pal well-fed and happy.

The best food to keep them sane is salad for which you will need lettuce and tomato plantation in your base. This will give them 11 Sanity points. Likewise, you can even set up their beds to rest and hot springs to relax further.

  6. Breeding: This entire process will come in handy. It involves many steps, but it is to get some highly powerful pals in the team with valuable passives like Lucky, Legend, or Elemental buffs.
  7. Level Progression: Focus on completing challenges in the top-right corner of the screen. Fight bosses at towers when you are at least level 15-20 for the first tower and higher for subsequent towers.
  8. Pal XP Boost: Catch 12 of each of the pals in the game's early stages to get that XP boost.

3. Technology Tree For More Upgrades

Next up, open the Tech Tree and check out all the tools, weapons, and materials you can unlock as you level up. You will need to collect technology points that aren’t too difficult to gather throughout the game.

Let’s check out a few basic tips regarding the Technology Tree in Palworld.

  1. Collecting Technology Points: You can get the points from multiple sources, such as Leveling up, unlocking Fast Travel, collecting Technical Manuals found in the Dungeons, and defeating Alpha Pals spread across the map.
  2. Craft Basics First: Well, there are multiple ways to earn tech points; however, the entire process is time-consuming. Its important to spend each of the points wisely and craft the most basic yet very essential items first.

Start with the Palbox and the workbench; you immediately need to craft some basic tools. Don’t directly jump to unlocking the Statue of Power on Level 6; spend the points unlocking Feed Bags for your pals.

  3. Ancient Technology: Apart from the general tech, you will also come across the Ancient Technology section in the tech tree. You can unlock and craft these by collecting Ancient Technology points obtained by killing the Alpha Bosses or even in chests located in Dungeons.

4. Dungeons and Merchants

Let’s talk about Dungeons; they are a favorite for many reasons. Not only can you get an Alpha Pal to defeat or catch but so much more. Here is what you need to know:

  1. Explore Dungeons on the map, as they are prime sources of resources like Paldium and coins. Large chunks of Paldium are usually found in caves or near water.
  2. If you are in the Dungeon and do not like the boss at the end, simply quit the room and return for a different boss. Keep repeating the same till you find the right one.
  3. When it comes to merchants, you can capture them and place them in your base to buy and sell different items such as gold coins, pals for a ton of money, and so much more.
  4. The best Pals to help you complete the Dungeons faster are Fenglope, Direhowl, Pyrin or Pyrin Noc, etc. These are easy to ride on and do not get stuck as they would if you used a massive flying pal. Similarly, they are swift and can help you complete the Dungeons within seconds.
  5. If you do not want to be lost in the Dungeons, always take a right turn. Keep banking right, which will eventually lead to the boss room. However, you would not want to miss out on resources such as Paldium Rocks, Ores, rare pals, and more.

5. Breeding and Combat

Breeding is another important part of the game where you can create your desired pals. Similarly, for combat purposes, take into account the Pal Element types with their Strength and Weakness to fight off enemies.

  1. Know Your Basics: Each pal has hidden stats or skills that you need to look into. Understanding how breeding works and which two pals create which pal in the process is important. For this, you can simply use any online Breeding Calculator.
  2. Catch Them All: Keep your Paldeck full with as many different pals as you can get since you may never know which pal might be of use for breeding. You can breed traits on them like nocturnal, serious, artisan, and work slave to maximize their work.
  3. Set up a Ranch farm: You will need a lot of resources for breeding at a large scale, such as milk, honey, berries, wheat flour, and eggs. Catch the desired pal for the same, which will give you a constant supply.
  4. Traits to Look Out For: While you will be catching a lot of pals in the game. Look for traits or skills on pals such as Ferocious and Musclehead, which are perfect for combat, Swift and Runner for speed, and some other equally good traits such as Legend, Lucky, etc.
  5. Element-Type Pals For Combat: Each pal falls under a different element category, such as Fire, Water, Ground, Grass, Electric, Neutral, Dark, Dragon, and Ice. Now, each of these has its strengths and weaknesses over each other. Hence, before battling with the Tower Bosse or Alpha Boss, make sure to pick the right pal type.
  6. Dodging and Shooting: Whether you are fighting the tower boss or any other pal in combat, the best to ensure your victory and keep your health at par is by dodging or rolling. You will encounter some exceptional bosses in these towers, and it becomes impossible to keep attacking them for a win. Use a Galeclaw for faster movement and attack when needed.

Miscellaneous Tips

We have almost covered every major aspect of the game; however, here are a few other general tips that might help you play the game better.

  1. If you ever run out of technology points, simply travel to any of the Wildlife Sanctuaries and look for a purple chest. Here you will find Technical Manuals that give out Technology Points.
  2. Use heat and cold-resistant armor to visit places like the Volcanic region or any snow-covered areas. Besides this, you can also ride on Kitsun while visiting hot areas on the map to protect you from the heat rather than carrying the armor.
  3. Set up a Pal Condenser in your Breeding base to level up your pals. It will take about 116 pals to condense and reach a high level.
  4. By Level 43, you can unlock the Hyper Shield. This creates a temporary barrier around you, absorbing incoming damage for a limited time. It activates with a cooldown, so it can’t be used continuously.
  5. Have at least one Lyleen in your team when going for an important battle. They have the healing ability or the partner skill where they quickly restore 1000 health for you, helping you survive longer in battles.
  6. While assigning pals to your base, try choosing pals that have 1-2 work suitability and something they are best at. Or else having multiple skills makes them lose focus often and wander about, wasting a ton of time.
  7. Apart from the basic weapons from the Technology Tree, if you are looking to unlock the best weapons or armor, you will need Legendary Schematics. They are very rare to find, but you can still get them by defeating Alpha Bosses, and they are also found in Dungeons.
  8. Try capturing Lucky Pal if you can, as they are highly valuable. They boost rare item drops, increase currency gains, and improve capture success rates, making them ideal for resource gathering and building a strong team efficiently.

These are all the tips for now and enough for not only in the early-stages of the game but to take you further. There are many other such tips, but you should explore the map and learn your way through.

The more you play, the more interesting it will be, and you might have some better hacks or tricks soon that are not mentioned in this guide yet. Let us know any tricks up your sleeve that we are missing and might change the game for good.
