The first thing you might notice in the new Minecraft update are the two newly added Mobs, each presenting a unique challenge for players to overcome.
Bogged is mostly found in swamp biomes; however, it can also be found in only one other location, the Trial Chambers, which we will discuss later in this review.
Another hostile mob that will only spawn in Trial Chambers is The Breeze.
The best part of this new update is, hands down, the Trial Chambers. These copper structures can appear randomly, and you need to watch for them. The easiest way is to go to a cartographer and get a Trial Explorer Map.
This is something you might need to look out for when you enter the Chambers. Trial Spawners are distinct from regular mob spawners. They are crafted from a combination of blocks that hint at the type of mob the spawner will generate.
You might have heard a lot of gamers talking about the new Ominous Event. Well, to trigger this, there are a few things you need to look into.
Another great addition to the Trial Chamber is that you can craft the Mace. Now that we have seen the ultimate Trial Chamber and all the challenges it brings along with it. However, you might have noticed all the new copper and tuff blocks around the trial chambers.
These new blocks come in various natural colors – ranging from browns and grays to a vibrant reddish-orange. You can find them in caves and even might have seen in the Trial Chambers.
The best way to craft the Tuff blocks is by using a stone cutter. You can create multiple types of blocks, such as Tuff Stairs, Slabs, and Walls, Chiseled Tuff Blocks, and Polished Tuff blocks.
The humble copper block gets a significant upgrade in the Tricky Trials update:
Another unique addition to the game is the Copper Bulbs. They act as a new light source block that emits a warm, orange-ish light. Apart from the Trial Chambers, this is one of the best new additions to the Tricky Trials update. It automates the crafting process, saving you significant time and effort, especially for frequently used items.
Now that we have covered all the major new additions to the Minecraft update, here are some other minor yet impactful additions.
BWell, the new Minecraft Trick Trials update is going to keep you hooked for hours, especially the new Trial Chamber, which is the heart of this update.
1. The Bogged
It has a skeletal structure with a thick layer of moss and mushrooms covering its bones. Unlike a regular skeleton, the Bogged utilizes a ranged attack that fires poisonous projectiles. Getting hit inflicts a slow-acting poison effect that can last up to 4 seconds and cause a lot of damage.
However, they are not very difficult to defeat. A few strikes from a sword would be enough to kill them. Furthermore, they drop bones, arrows, and poisonous arrows as well.2. The Breeze
The main line of attack here is that it unleashes powerful gusts of wind that can knock players back significantly. This can be particularly dangerous near ledges or traps within the Trial Chambers.
To defeat this mob, you cannot simply use arrows or throw any other weapon at it since the winds around it will deflect it. However, the best way to kill them is by getting very close or near them and then attacking them with a sword. This entire process can take some time, but not impossible.
You need to kill these mobs to collect the Breeze Rod, and you can craft Wind Charge using them. These are excellent in pushing enemies away and can be used to jump high up in the air. Cool, right?Trial Chambers
Now, you might encounter a lot of mobs and other creatures here, so before you go in, you need to be prepared. Stock up on healing items, food, strong armor, and weapons before venturing into a Trial Chamber. Consider bringing torches, potions, and building blocks for unforeseen situations.
The Trial Chamber is composed of three different parts: the Entrance, Corridors, and Chambers.
You will find tons of loot in this structure. In the corridors, you will come across Decorated Pots that you can destroy to get items like ores, trial keys, and creator (music box).
Other than that, you have multiple barrels and chests spread all across the Trial Chamber with different loot items and treasures.Trial Spawners and Vaults
Each Trial Spawner has a small model of the mob it will spawn embedded within its block. This allows you to quickly identify the type of enemy you'll face before engaging. For example, if you see white-colored blocks around the Trial Spawner, you might have to encounter the Skeleton Mobs.
Once you have defeated all the spawned mobs, the Trial Spawner will go into a 30-minute cool-down mode. The major purpose of defeating all the mobs is to get the reward, which could be a Trial Key, at the end. This key is crucial for unlocking the Vault within the Trial Chamber, which holds the ultimate reward for conquering the entire complex.
Speaking of the Vault, these boxes have some major loots that you can grab with the help of Trial Key. Some of the items you will get are Emeralds, Arrows, a Wind Charge, a Guster Banner Pattern, an Ominous Bottle, Enchanted Books, and more.
However, it's important to remember that once you have opened the vault, that player cannot reuse it.Ominous Event
To start with the Ominous Event, you need the Ominous Bootles that are found either directly from the Vaults as loots or you can get them by killing the Pillager Captains.
Drinking the Ominous Bottle grants the player the "Bad Omen" effect for 100 minutes. During this period, killing the Ominous Trial Spawners will get more challenging.
However, in the end, you will get access to Ominous Keys to open the Ominous Vaults, which have a ton of exclusive loot. Now, it might be a bit difficult to locate these vaults, which are surrounded by red candles, red terracotta, and tuff blocks for identification. The Mace
The Mace functions as a unique weapon with a standard attack and a special "Smash Attack”. To perform a Smash Attack, you need to jump from a height and swing the Mace downwards while in mid-air. The longer you fall before hitting the target, the more powerful the Smash Attack becomes.
While the Smash Attack negates fall damage for the player if it successfully lands on an enemy, be cautious! Missing your target with a Smash Attack from a significant height can result in taking fall damage yourself.
To forge the weapon, you need the Breeze Rod obtained after defeating the new mob Breeze. The other component you need is the Heavy Core obtained from the Ominous Vault.New Blocks and Customization
Around 34 new blocks have been added to the inventory that you can use to create some magnificent structures.1. Tuff Blocks
2. Copper Blocks
You might already know how copper blocks are created using copper ores. However, with the new update, there are multiple different types of copper blocks you can get as well, including:
3. Copper Bulbs
You can find them in the Trial Chambers or craft them from scratch.
Here is what you will need: Blaze Rod, Redstone Dust, and four Copper Blocks.
Unlike other light source blocks in Minecraft, Copper Bulbs have a unique property. They don't turn on and off with a simple redstone signal. Instead, a single redstone pulse toggles their state, switching them between on and off. This makes them useful for creating blinking lights or more complex redstone contraptions.Auto Crafter
To craft the Auto Crafter, you need 5 Iron Ingots, A Crafting Table, 2 Redstone Dust, and A Dropper.
The Auto Crafter has 9 inventory slots with a 3x3 crafting grid. The arrow will turn red when the crafter is crafting any item. Furthermore, you can also disable the slots you are not using. For example, if you only need one slot, you can disable all the other 8.
The front of the crafter will have a face on it, which is where it ejects or transfers items into another container. It can transfer items when crafted into a dispenser, dropper, Hopper, Shuler box, chest, trap chest, or another crafter.
All the Other New Additions
Inside the Trial Chambers, you will find lots of treasures that includes two Armor Trims namely Bolt Armor Trim and Flow Armor Trim.
You will also find three new music discs: Precipice, Creator, and Creator (Music Box).
Next up, there are three new Pottery Sherds found in the Trial Chambers and are naturally occurring, namely Flow, Guster, and Scrape.
Then, we have two new Banner Patterns, i.e., Guster and Flow, found in the Vaults.
The new Minecraft update also added four new Potions, Infestation, Oozing, Weaving, and Wind Charging, each serving a specific purpose.
Is It Worth Upgrading?
There are tons of new things to check out and explore. You can fight the new mobs, raid the chambers and grab all the loot, build new structures using the Tuff and Copper blocks, and so many other things once you start exploring.
