Pals in Palworld aren’t just your companions or your combat buddies; they help you build your base, make food, mine, farm, and everything else you can think of to survive in the game. I have been playing the game for months now and have come across some of the best Pals for kindling, gathering, mining, and multiple other activities at your base.

The guide below will cover all the details about the Pals you will need for different purposes around your base. Now depending on the type of base you have built, you can choose the Pals accordingly from the list below.
Let’s check them out.
Kindling in Palworld refers to the ability to start and maintain fires. It's a crucial skill for many tasks such as cooking, heating your base, and smelting materials.
Well, it’s always best to choose the most powerful Pals for this, but as a beginner, you can also select the ones that are of Level 2 and can be found easily on the map.
Jormuntide Ignis is the one you absolutely need for your kindling needs. This has a Level 4 Work Suitability, making it perfect for baking cakes and even fighting the most fearsome bosses.
Although this is difficult to find for beginners, it is not impossible. Your best bet is to find the Dragon Eggs near the Volcanic areas of the map. You can then incubate the eggs and get Jormuntide Ignis.
Some of the other gamers have been lucky to find it at Level 20 or lower at different locations such as the Castle Area with the Wixens at -552/-619 coordinates and many other areas.
Once you have more than two of these Pals, you can breed them together to get more powerful Jormuntide Ignis.
Ragnahawk is one of the best-looking flying Pals you can find. It is also a very quick flyer compared to all others and easily fits into the dungeons. However, you will need the Ragnahawk Saddle to be able to ride on it.
The saddle can be unlocked once you reach Level 37. So even though you have caught the Pal early in the game, you will need to reach that level to unlock the saddle and ride on it.
This is Level 3 in Kindling and Transporting too. It is another incredible Pal for baking cakes in your Breeding base and an absolute beast when flying around the map.
You can capture this Pal by collecting the eggs around the Volcanic region and then incubating them. Or if you are lucky enough, you can catch them flying around as well in these areas, especially in coordinates -817/-415.
However, the easiest process would be to breed Penking + Pyrin Noct or Nitewing + Elizabee to get Ragnahawk. You can try multiple such combinations to get this powerful Pal.
Faleris is another alternative to Jormuntide Ignis which can be caught early in the game.
This is again a Level 3 Kindling and Transporting pal as well. You can ride on it by unlocking the saddle at Level 38 in the tech tree. Another advantage of having Faleris is that it is faster than Ragnahawk. Plus, you get double the loot when fighting with the Ice Pals.
It can be found northeast of the map at the Wildlife Sanctuary. It's super rare to find them flying around in these areas and also a bit difficult to catch them as well.
However, you can breed them using only the Vanwyrm + Anubis combo. Well, Vanwyrm spawns around the Sealed Realm of the Swordmaster, which isn’t very difficult to find. But Anubis is a bit difficult to capture; instead, you can breed some low-level Anubis easily and follow through.
Water is needed at your base for not only watering the crops but also the mills which turn wheat into flour. It is also used in the crusher to turn wood into fire.
Here are some of the best Pals you can choose for watering:
Jormuntide is a Level 45 Boss-type water Pal that is very difficult to defeat and capture. You will need plenty of Legendary Spheres; hence it is not very economical. It has Level 4 Work Sustainability for watering, making it the most useful Pal you can have on your base.
You can use it to travel on water, which is pretty cool. However, you will need the saddle for that, which can be unlocked on Level 39 in the tech tree.
There are two locations where you can find them at -171/266 and 352/-84 coordinates on the map. However, the best way to get Jormuntides is by breeding Anubis + Suzaku (desert area). Or you can use other different combos if you do not have Anubis.
The only disadvantage of having both the Jormuntides is that they are extremely huge. They just take up the entire space on your base or your screen. Furthermore, they are stuck in random places making managing them difficult.
Instead of managing the huge Jormuntide, you can use Azurobe as your water pal for farming and other water-related activities.
This is also a Level 17 Boss Pal known as the Lady of the Lake. It is easier to capture and also can be very useful in the earlier parts of the game. It can be found on coordinates 53/-387 on the map.
It has Level 3 work suitability for watering. It can also be ridden on water but definitely not the fastest. Instead, you can create your farming base and have at least 3 Azurobe for only watering.
You will need Planting pals to grow crops. The crops are then used to feed your pals and keep them sane. Let’s check out some of the best ones for this:
One of our favorite pals to have on the base. Lyleen isn’t just powerful for combat; it can be used for multiple jobs such as Level 4 Planting, Level 3 Handiwork, Level 2 Gathering, and Level 3 Medicine Production.
If you have set up your farming base, 2-3 Lyleens might be the best ones to have. To get this pal, you can travel all the way to the Pal Sanctuary and capture them. But they are Level 43 pals so you need to be equipped with the right pals and weapons for them.
Or else if you are currently a beginner, you can breed them by using Mossanda + Petallia in the breeding farm. This is a much easier way since Lyleen can be a bit annoying to catch and it will require a lot of legendary spheres.
Another great addition to your planting arsenal is Petallia. It is a Level 3 in Planting, Level 2 in Gathering and Handiwork, Level 2 in Medicine Production, and Level 1 in Transporting.
The coordinates to capture Petallia is -20 -264 which isn’t the most difficult to defeat. However, if you have played Palworld long enough and have already set up your breeding base, you can breed Sweepa + Rooby and get as many Petallia as you need.
These are very easy pals to get; hence this is a much better method nonetheless. But you can rather challenge Petallia and enjoy the boss fight.
Your base will need a constant supply of electricity and for this, unlocking generators alone will not work. You need some powerful pals to keep them fed with electricity.
These generators are especially needed when you set your breeding base. So let’s check out some of the best pals below:
One of the best pals you can get for electricity is Orserk. This is a Level 4 in Generating Electricity, Level 2 in Handiwork, and Level 3 in Transporting.
It can be found in the Wildlife Sanctuary at Level 40. Again, it is a super rare find that depends entirely on your luck. If you are on very low levels, it is best not to go after them.
You can breed Relaxaurus + Grizzbolt and get Orserk. Once you unlock the breeding farm after Level 20, it’s easier to breed the powerful pals than actually catch them from different locations.
Another electric Pal you can add to your base is Grizzbolt. It is Level 3 in Generating Electricity and Transporting, and Level 2 in Handiwork and Lumbering.
It is located in the southern part of the map in the Nature Preserve Number 1. If you do not find it there, you can just fly back into the water and fly it back to the island to reset everything. Try this multiple times and you might find Grizzbolt there.
It isn’t very difficult to capture Grizzbolt and you can use your Giga Sphere for capturing. Also, it spawns both during the day and night. So you can set up a small base on the island and use Fast Travel there to get ahold of it.
You will craft a ton of things from the very beginning of the game. There are always some of the early game pals for the work but for more efficiency, you will need some powerful pals that will get the job done within seconds.
Here are some of our favorite Handiwork Pals listed below.
Anubis is a personal favorite and one of the strongest pals for many different purposes. It is a Level 47 pal that can be a bit difficult to capture since it is a boss-type pal. Anubis has a Level 4 Handiwork, Level 3 in Mining, and Level 2 in Transporting.
This pal is the fastest way to craft all your work at your base. You simply assign it a task and it will be done in seconds. Well, that's not all. You can also use it for Combat as many gamers were able to single-handedly defeat the Jormuntide (Water) with Anubis within minutes.
Speaking of the location, you can find Anubis at -136 -99 coordinates and challenge it for a fight. Now you will definitely need legendary spheres for it or even around 20+ hyper spheres might also work.
The easiest way to get Anubis very early in the game, that is after Level 20, is by breeding Penking + Bushi in the breeding farm. They are the easiest to get as opposed to other combinations.
To have a perfect base, you will need a lot of pals who can help you with simply gathering things around the base. Such as gathering crops when harvested, gathering the stones and ores once mined, and much more.
These are some of the pals that can help you with it.
Frostallion Noct is a dark-type pal considered to be the best for gathering in your base. It has Level 4 gathering work sustainability making it the best on the list.
Now the only way to find this pal is by breeding Legendary Pal Frostallion + Helzephyr. This is the only combo that will give you this rare pal.
Frostallion is an Alpha-type pal that can be found only in the Astral Mountains and cannot be bred. So you will have to catch and defeat the pal to capture it. This is going to be a tough end-game battle since you can get this at Level 50.
To capture Helzephyr, you can move to Verdant Brook located underneath the Astral Mountains and the Dessicated Desert regions. Remember this pal can only be found during the nighttime since this is a Dark pal. Using the two pals you can then breed Frostallion Noct.
Verdash is another great choice for gathering. This grass-type pal can be found in the No.2 Wildlife Sanctuary on the map.
The best part of Verdash is that it is not only a Level 3 Gatherer but also has a Level 2 in Planting, Lumbering, and Transporting, and a Level 3 in Handiwork. It can be used alongside Anubis for all sorts of work around the base.
You can breed Verdash as well to get it early in the game, but then it is easily available in the said location and easy to capture as well. However, if that is something you would want, then you can breed Lamball + Penking which are easily available.
To build your base and other weapons, you will need a lot of ore and stones along the way. The best to get them is through mining. So if you have not set up a base yet for mining, try out these pals and give it a go.
Astegon is the pal you need at your mining base. Its best feature is that it works even at night, making it highly efficient. It has Level 4 mining work sustainability with Level 1 Handiwork.
Now Astegon is a Level 48 pal that can be found in the Destroyed Mineshaft that is on the west side of the Mount Obsidian Midpoint Teleport Point. The coordinates are -575 -415.
If you have the right weapon, it isn’t that difficult to capture it, but you surely need a good sphere, probably Ultra or Legendary ones for a better capture rate. The best way to use this pal is at your mining base to hammer the stones and convert them into Paldium Fragments, or the most important one is ore mining.
It is also a great choice in boss fights, especially if you breed some good passive skills into them. Well, by now you know you can simply breed almost any pal there is. Astegon can also be bred in the early game using Suzaku + Relaxaurus.
This is amongst our favorites when it comes to mining. In fact, many gamers prefer having multiple Digtoise in their base for mining. This is a Level 3 for mining and it’s the best at it.
If you have stones or ores in your base, Digtoise does the job well by shredding them faster than any pal. Also, the pal is perfect for mining nodes and also gives high efficiency overall.
As for the location, you can find Digtoise in the desert biome and it is pretty easy to capture. Furthermore, you can also breed this pal with some incredible passive skills.
You can even get Anubis in your mining base that has Level 3 for mining, and since it does a ton of other work too, it's a win-win situation.
As mentioned, you need to keep yourself and your pals well-fed, and for this, you have to grow crops. However, just like in the real world, these crops and food can rot as well. So you need to craft a cooler and get some pals to keep it cool for the entire day.
Here is the one that works the best both day and night.
Vanwyrm Cryst is the best cooling pal you can find for your fridge. Although many might argue that it has only a Level 2 cooling capacity, it's the best because it works even at night.
Furthermore, this pal also has a Level 3 in transporting, so you can use it at your base for transporting purposes as well. But another incredible use of this pal is for combat. You can get the mount from the tech tree at Level 21 and enjoy flying as well.
This pal is found in the Astral Mountains. Very to catch and highly useful.
Other than this, you can also use Frostallion with Level 4 cooling, but this is not available at night. So you can have both and then switch likewise.
Now for lumbering, the best pal you can have at your base is Wumpo Butan. It has multiple skills to consider including Level 3 in Lumbering, Level 4 in Transporting, Level 2 in Handiwork, and Level 1 in Planting.
The low-level ones are located in the No.2 Wildlife Sanctuary and are fairly easy to capture. However, if you are looking to capture a more powerful one, then you can visit the north side of the beach on Eastern Wild Island. You will find the Alpha Wumpo Botan of Level 38.
Other easier option is to breed Sweepa + Surfent which are early game pals and can be easily captured on the map.
Bushi is an incredible pal that also has a Level 3 in lumbering and is perfect for your base pal. It has Level 2 in Kindling and Transporting along with Level 1 in some Gathering and Handiwork.
This is a highly powerful pal and not the easiest to capture, especially if you are going to the Level 23 boss-type Bushi. You can find them in the Sealed Realm of the Swordmaster. Since this is a fire element pal, it can be used in combat against the ice and grass-type pals.
You can also find low-level Bushi at the No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary which is comparatively easier to defeat and capture.
Farming is super essential to survive in Palworld. You need milk, eggs, honey, and many other things. For this, you can set up your ranches and produce all of these using the pals mentioned below.
When it comes to your farming base, you will basically need Mozzarina for milk. You can kill them to collect milk as loot.
But the best option is to set up a ranch at your base and place at least 2 of these pals there. They will give you a good supply of milk which you can collect.
Mozzarina is found in three different locations i.e. east of the Sealed Realm of the Thunder Dragon, north of the Sealed Realm of the Swordmaster, and around the Ravine Entrance.
You will need Honey as a key ingredient for making a ton of Cakes used in Breeding. For honey, you will need a lot of Beegarde. This is another useful pal for your base that not only gives you honey but also features Level 1 in Planting, Handiwork, Lumbering, Medicine Production, Farming, and Gathering 1 along with Level 2 in Transporting.
You can find this Pal in multiple locations including the Sealed Realm of the Swift. Simply use Fast Travel and try capturing the pal. The problem with Beegarde is that it has a self-destructive nature, so you need to be careful and try immediately capturing it by using the best spheres or you will have to keep trying.
Lastly in this list we have Chikipi. This is the easiest pal you can catch and can be found all across the map especially in the Plateau of Beginnings. Well, they are not good fighters, so it makes it easy to be an early-game pal to capture.
The main reason you will need Chikipi at your base is because they drop eggs. Simply craft a ranch from the tech tree and assign multiple Chikipi to them for more eggs.
Well, these are all the Pals you will need at your base. Depending on which base you are building, you can pick one accordingly and go on a journey to capture them.
If you have any Pals that you have been using that are not mentioned in the list, do let us know in the comment section below.
