Obtain server details

You will require all the relevant information necessary to connect to your server. The information about your server can be found in the dashboard of your game server administration. Important information includes the following:

  • IP address and port
  • Server name
  • Server password (Optional)

With the important information mentioned above, you should be able to locate your server and ensure that you connect to the correct server.

Establish server connection

The connection to a game server can often be established in one or more ways. The options and methods available and how to use them are explained in detail below.

To connect to your server via the Steam server browser, open the server browser from Steam. Click on View at the top of the Steam navigation and then on the Game Server section to open it.

Search or add your server via the Steam browser by using the IP address and Port of your game server. To do this, select the Favorites tab in the server list and click on the plus symbol at the bottom. A pop-up window will open in which you specify your server information.

Not visible

A lack of visibility of the server can occur if the initialization was not completed successfully for some reason. This may for example be due to a faulty configuration or corrupted files. Further information can usually be traced in the server console or log files.
