Insurgency is the standalone successor of the Source mod Insurgency: Modern Infantry Combat. Like its predecessor, Insurgency is a tactical multiplayer first-person shooter with a main focus on realism. In the game, 2 teams(security forces and insurgents) compete against each other and, depending on the game mode, have to pursue different goals in order to win the match.

Insurgency supports up to 32 players who can show their skills in 9 different multiplayer modes on 16 maps in tactical battles. The game offers over 20 different weapons and the realism is underlined by missing crosshairs and a special free aim system as well as a damage model: just 1 hit can be deadly. Furthermore Insurgency offers extensive support for mods, including steam workshop support.
