We are making your gameservers faster and more reliable: ZAP-Hosting is expanding its infrastructure with new host systems powered by AMD EPYC 7xxx (Milan). All gameservers at the listed locations will be migrated automatically at no extra cost. In addition, we are preparing to offer Premium host systems with AMD Ryzen 9 9950X for maximum single-core performance, and will introduce a feature that shows you the exact CPU of your server in the interface.

What changes exactly?

We are adding new host systems with AMD EPYC 7xxx (Milan) at four locations (Eygelshoven, Los Angeles, Ashburn, Dallas) and migrating all existing gameservers there. For you this means: more performance, lower latency, and higher stabilitywithout effort and at no additional cost.

At the same time, we are preparing Premium host systems with AMD Ryzen 9 9950X for customers who need top single-core performance. In addition, a new CPU transparency feature will be rolled out that shows the exact CPU of your server – not only at these sites, but also at our other datacenters.

Why AMD EPYC 7xxx (Milan) for gameservers?

The EPYC 7003 series (codename Milan, Zen 3 architecture) is designed for high parallelism and predictable performance under load – perfect for running many game instances, worlds, or slots side by side.

Core benefits of EPYC 7xxx (Milan)
  • High core/thread density: many threads per host for dense, stable consolidation of instances.
  • Zen 3 IPC improvements: noticeable per-core performance boost vs. previous gen – important for tick rates.
  • Large caches & efficient L3 access: reduces latency in CPU-heavy game scenarios.
  • Broad memory bandwidth (8-channel DDR4): consistent performance across many slots.
  • PCIe 4.0 (depending on platform): fast NVMe for maps, mods, chunks & logs.
  • Excellent performance-per-watt: efficient cooling and stable platform.

Outlook: Premium hosts with AMD Ryzen 9 9950X

For especially CPU-sensitive games and modpacks with high single-thread load, we will soon offer Premium hosts powered by AMD Ryzen 9 9950X (Zen 5 generation). These provide maximum clock speeds, exceptional single-core performance, and ultra-low latency.

Which CPU type is best for which scenario?
Scenario Recommendation Why
Many parallel instances / slots AMD EPYC 7xxx (Milan) High core count, stable multithread scaling, broad memory bandwidth
Single instance with tick- or mod-heavy workload Ryzen 9 9950X (Premium) Outstanding single-core performance & boost clocks for tick-critical tasks

More transparency: CPU visibility in the interface

Soon you will see the exact CPU of your server directly in the web interface. This feature will be available at all datacenters, not just the ones being upgraded. This way you can compare setups and plan your projects with precision.
