Best Ore Locations in Palworld

Ore is used to make Ingots which are required to craft almost all the weapons, crafting materials, saddles, etc., from the Technology Tree.

Ore deposits are the heart of resource gathering in Palworld, and knowing where to find them, how to mine them, and how to maximize their yield is essential to progress in all three stages of the game: Early Stage, Mid-Stage, and Late Game.

Furthermore, all the locations have a respawn time of approximately 5 minutes, so you have an almost unlimited supply of ores.

Here are some of the major Ore mining locations in the game where you can set up your second base.

1. Behind Desolate Church

If you are early on in the game and have been looking to make some ingots, you can simply choose to visit the area behind the Desolate Church. It is the safest among all the places and is easily available at the starting point of the game. You can unlock the Desolate Church Fast Travel point for easier access.

Now, a lot of gamers might even set up their first base here with all the basic equipment and pals along with having 6-8 ore deposits to craft ingots. The coordinates to this location are 75, -410

2. West of Fort Ruins

Another early-game ore location that might be perfect for your base is West of Fort Ruins. The coordinates to this area are 150, -390.

Not only this, you can even find Level 11 Alpha Chillet that can be easily captured with a low-level pal. Although the terrain around this isn’t the best for setting up a base, you can still get enough ores from the 8 nodes in the area.

3. Southwest of Small Settlement

If you are looking for another safe place to mine ores and even set up your first mining base, this could be it. The area around this location is pretty safe as it's not heavily populated by dangerous Pals.

The area is characterized by cliffs and open terrain, which provides a natural advantage for spotting ore deposits. Furthermore, the Small Settlement fast travel point makes it convenient for fast travel and quick returns to your main base for crafting and storage purposes. The coordinates to this are 14, -530.

Once you move ahead in the mid-section and late-game, having enough ingots becomes essential to craft tools, and weapons, and even upgrade the base.

4. South of Cinnamoth Forest

South of Cinnamoth Forest is an excellent mid-game location for mining. You can not only find Ore Deposits but also Coal, making it a perfect spot to set up your mining base.

The terrain in this area is relatively open, making it easier to spot and mine ores without getting lost in dense foliage or complex layouts. You can easily find at least 10 ore nodes along with Sulphur and Wood in this area which indicates you can gather materials quickly, and is crucial as you progress into the mid-game.

The coordinates to this location are -75, -318.

5. Near Sealed Realm of the Guardian

One of the best locations that we found on the map not only has multiple ore nodes but also coal deposits. This is perfect for setting up another base and mine ore all day long with the help of some highly efficient pals.

The coordinates to this are 190, -40 and it is believed that there are 5 coal nodes and 8 ore nodes available here. To reach here you will need to unlock a flying mount pal and set up your base only for the sole purpose of mining.

The nearest fast travel point in this location is the Sealed Realm of the Guardian making it easy to travel from different locations for resources.

6. Flopie Summit

Another exceptional location that has around 8-10 Ore nodes along with Stones and Coal nodes too. It is simply next to the Mount Flopie Summit fast travel point which makes it highly convenient overall for transporting resources.

Although this is located on an uneven terrain, hence setting up a base can be a bit challenging but also highly beneficial since there are not many disturbances around when it comes to pals and raids. The coordinates for this are 0, -85.

There are a lot of other such locations that have a good number of ore nodes where you can either set up your base or simply mine the ores and collect them.

Best Pals For Mining Ores

Now that we have listed down some of the best locations, let’s jot down some of the best mining pals that will do most of the mining tasks for you.

1. Digtoise

Let’s start with the best of the lot. Digtoise is considered to be one of the most valuable pal for mining ores. It has Level 3 Mining in work suitability and being mining the only skill it has, it does not get distracted from the task assigned to it.

When any Pal in Palworld reaches the final star level (4 stars), they receive a significant work speed boost. However, Digtoise not only benefits from the regular work speed increase but also scales directly with its Partner Skill.

At level 5 Partner Skill, a 4-star Digtoise performs even better than other Pals, dealing 7-8 damage per node (when mining ore, for example), making it much faster and more efficient than other Pals.

This pal can be found in the desert biome and can be caught very easily. It's best to have at least two Digtoise in your mining base for the best output.

2. Anubis

This is one of our favorite pals in Palworld. You can use it for its Level 3 Mining skills but also Level 4 Handiwork, and Level 2 in Transporting.

It is an incredibly powerful pal for all of the above and the best part is that it does not get stuck in your base nor get distracted at all. Not only will it mine at an amazing speed but also helps in transporting the ores into the crates.

Furthermore, Anubis has very low food requirements and rarely seems to get depressed or even sick making it very easy to maintain them. Anubis is located at -136, -99 coordinates and can be a bit difficult to capture since they give a hard time to low-level pals. You can also get Anubis by Breeding pals to add some incredible passive skills to them.

3. Astegon

Another Level 4 mining that is just the one you need at your mining base is Astegon. Now, the reason a lot of Palworld enthusiasts pick this pal is because it works even at night. Even if you are gone from your base, Astegon will be mining ores all day and night.

To capture Astegon you can go to Destroyed Mineshaft which is on the west side of the Mount Obsidian Midpoint fast travel point.

Also, the coordinates to this are -575, -415. Here you will be facing a Level 48 boss-type Astegon that can be challenging to capture and fight with.

4. Tombat

If you are looking for pals in the early game you can get Tombat which has a Level 2 Mining and does the job pretty well. The best part of this pal is that it also has Level 2 in Gathering and Transporting; hence you can add it to your base for not only mining but collecting the mined ores to the boxes.

Although you can breed Tombat, it is best to capture the Alpha pals located near the Hillside Cavern, and Isolated Island Cavern. Also, this is both day and night pal like Digtoise and works all day even when you are not physically in the base.

5. Penking

Now, at your mining base, you will not only need Mining pals but also pals that can do all the other jobs such as watering, planting, transporting, gathering, and all other activities. Hence, Penking might just be perfect for all of the above.

It has Level 2 Mining as its skill but it also carries other important skills such as Handiwork (Lv2)

Transporting (Lv2), Watering (Lv2), and Cooling (Lv2). They will help you water the plants for food, gather the materials and transport them, and even for coolers.

It can be found and captured in the Sealed Realm of the Frozen Wings with coordinates being 118, -354. Here you will come across the Alpha pal Penking with Level 15. Fairly easy to fight with and capture.

6. Dumud

Another early-game pal for your mining base is Dumud. They are extremely underrated, and you will know this once you assign them to mining ores at your base.

Even though they are Level 2 in Mining, it's still enough once you are in the game's early stages. Later, you can add Digtoise or even Astegon to your team, making the process even faster.

How To Set Up Ore Mining Base From Scratch

Now, that we are all up and running on the locations where you can find the Ore deposits along with the best mining pals, let’s check out all the steps you can follow to set up a proper mining base.

It's important to remember that Palworld’s recent update has added a dedicated Ore Mining Site at its higher level that does not require any ore deposits or a separate mining base. However, in the earlier stage of the game, you will need a base to mine ores since the Ore Mining Site can be unlocked after Level 15.

Here is what you can do.

1. Choosing the Right Location

The first step in setting up a successful mining base is selecting the best location. This will determine how efficient your mining operations are.

You can select from the locations mentioned above in this guide. If you have just started you can select the zone just where you might have captured the Alpha Chillet pal.

Other than this there are multiple locations such as Desolate Church, West of Fort Ruins, etc where you can easily find around 6-8 Ore Deposits to set your base. Make sure to look for a safe place that is away from any dangerous pals that can raid the base.

2. Which Pals Are Best For Mining and Base?

The best pals that are perfect for your mining base are Penking, Dumud, and Tombat if you are in the early stages of the game. They all have Level 2 Mining skills and can be easily found all around the map.

Likewise, for late game, you can grab Digitoise, Astegon, and Anubis for mining. Get at least 2-3 of these to make the work go faster and more efficiently.

Other than that, you need basic pals for watering, gathering, and transporting as well once the ores are mined into the chests.

3. Setting Up Your Mining Base

Once you are done choosing the right location, start with laying down the Palbox in a suitable area.

Now, if you have just started playing Palworld, you will need to set up a mining base from scratch around a proper Ore deposits location. However, once you cross Level 30, you can unlock the Ore Mining Site II in your main base and mine ores within seconds.

1. Place Storage Chest

The first thing you should do is craft a storage or wooden chest and place it in two different spots. One should be in the middle of your base and another just next to the Palbox.

Well, the middle one will be used to store all the ores mined by the pals, and the Palbox one can be used to transfer any materials from one base to another through fast travel. If the storage chest is full, you will have to empty it eventually and this placement will come in handy.

2. Beds, Feed Box, and Hot Spring

You cannot leave your pals hungry for a long time. If you need them to work efficiently, keep them fed at all times. Similarly, you will also have to take care of their resting place so that they can sleep and regain their energy.

You can place the feed box in the center of the base so that all the pals can have proper access to it. Now, to ensure that the feedbox is always full of food, place a berry plantation in your base.

It can be unlocked as you move further in the game and assign specific pals for harvesting, gathering, and watering them.

As for the beds, the purpose is pretty obvious. Add at least 10-15 of them so that your pals can rest. You can also place 2-3 hot springs as well so that your pals can relax and not get grumpy from working all day.

4. Setting Up The Furnace and Generators

Well, our main goal isn’t to simply mine ores, it is to craft the Ingots that are in turn used to craft various other materials and tools from the tech tree.

Once you have set up the foundation, placed the feed box, beds, hot springs, and all the other things, move on to setting up a furnace. If you have enough resources go with an electric furnace.

Or else, you can also choose the Improved Furnace. Make sure to add a chest beside each furnace you have added to the base so that all the ingots can be placed there. Also, to ensure the electric furnace is working, you will need pals for kindling and generators to provide electricity in your base.

5. Ore Mining Site

Now, as discussed Palworld also provides you with an option to unlock an Ore Mining Site I after Level 15 and Ore Mining Site II after Level 30. If you have reached these levels, you can ditch the entire process of finding a good Ore node location and instead set up a proper mining site in your main base.

You will need all of the above as well to keep your pals happy and fed along with the furnace to craft ingots. But the overall process becomes incredibly fast and you will eventually never run out of ingots in the entire game.

The Ore Mining Site is indeed a game changer once you unlock it. However, we will still recommend having a separate base for mining since you will have a bigger space for the pals to move around, and easier to maintain as well.

Mastering The Ore Mining Process

Well, that is all from us on how you can set up a proper ore mining base. The most important aspect to follow here is to ensure that everything is automated. If you follow the right strategy, you may not have to do anything once the entire base is set up.

As someone who has played 100+ hours in this game, you can start with a manual setup of the mining base, and in the late game, you cna set up the ore mining site. Remember, Ores and Ingots are one of the major components of the game, and no matter what you simply cannot get enough of it to unlock 100’s of items from the tech tree.

Likewise, you can add the stone pit in the same base, mine coal, and all other resources too which are equally important overall.
