ARK: Survival Evolved is currently available
for free at the Epic Gamestore. Of course you can connect to our server with the Epic version. In this post we will show you
which settings are necessary for this. There is also a new map and a current event that can be activated on our servers.
Important: Currently there is
no mod support for the Epic version. To connect to a server with the Epic version, the server must not have any mods enabled. Studio Wildcard will add mod support in a future update.
In order to connect to an ARC server with the Epic version,
"Crossplay" or
"Epic" must be enabled in the server settings. With
Crossplay enabled, both Steam and Epic versions of ARC can connect to the server. If
Epic is enabled, only Epic versions can connect to the server. If both options are disabled and/or mods are enabled, only Steam versions can connect to the server.
To enable Epic or Crossplay, go to your
ARK server settings in the
Web Interface.
Epic is enabled under
"Allows only Epic Game Store players to connect to the server". To
activate, click the
"True" button and to
deactivate, click the
"False" button.
Crossplay is enabled under
"Allow Crossplay". Click the
"True" button to
activate it and the
"False" button to
deactivate it.
Important: Activate either Epic or Crossplay, but not both options at the same time.
To activate the changes, save and restart the server.
There is also a new map
Crystal Isles and a temporary
anniversary event, which can be activated on all ARK servers.
To activate the map
Crystal Isles, just enter
"CrystalIsles" in the settings under
Gameserver Map, save the changes and restart your server:
To activate the
anniversary event, simply enter
"birthday" in the settings under
ARK Events, save the changes and restart your server:
